Matthew W. Johnson joined Sherwood, Johnson & Poles in 2008 after completing a clerkship at the Bergen County Courthouse with Honorable William DeLorenzo, Jr. in the Family Part. Since joining the firm, Mr. Johnson has worked exclusively on family law matters. He specializes in all aspects of family law, including but not limited to divorce, paternity matters, child custody, child support, alimony, domestic violence, same-sex divorce / dissolution, etc.
Mr. Johnson brings a unique skill set to the firm, highlighted by his strong background in finance. Since joining Sherwood, Johnson & Poles, Mr. Johnson has been an invaluable member to the team, working seamlessly with our other attorneys as a zealous advocate for clients. He works in tandem with the lawyers to ensure the best results possible for the firm's clients. Mr. Johnson has tried several family law cases. Furthermore, he has strong experience in both the defense and prosecution of domestic violence proceedings, and he also has experience appearing at plenary hearings before the Family Court.
When he is not advocating for his clients, Mr. Johnson enjoys his other interests, which include spending time with family, health and fitness activities, cooking, and gardening.
